Hey y’all, guess what?!

I’m really excited to announce that the jewelry I make is now available in my own shop, attached to my author website! The shop is called “Gail’s Attic”.

Later, my novels and my art will be available for purchase in Gail’s Attic, along with some other random handmade artistic things from time to time.

Did you even know that I make beautiful jewelry? Maybe I should have told you. It’s been available for sale on other websites, so I’m really excited that I now have this shop.

My handmade jewelry is beautiful and fun to wear. Each unique, one-of-a-kind piece is individually designed and handmade of high quality jewelry components.

Now… I just have to take nice photos of way more than 100 pieces of the handmade jewelry that I have for sale, and get the photos uploaded into my new shop! I’ve got a good start on it, with about 30 pieces in Gail’s Attic at the time of this writing.

Black Bucket Art

I created my handmade jewelry and unique wall art business a number of years ago as “Black Bucket Art”. A few carefully selected artist friends and I produced beautiful, fun to wear jewelry, with each piece individually designed and hand-made of semi-precious stones, pearls, Swarovski crystals, Bohemian glass, and other high quality jewelry components. Each piece was – and still is – truly one-of-a-kind.

We also produced unique, high-quality wall art for Home Décor, using only the finest quality art materials, with great attention to detail and excellence.

Taking our jewelry and art, along with some other occasional unique handmade items, we traveled throughout the Southeast US doing home-based Trunk Shows.

And then my favorite Trunk Show organizer moved to another country.

Gail’s Attic

So now, with more than 100 pieces of jewelry, and creativity and materials to create hundreds more, I’ve opened Gail’s Attic, the online store connected to my author website.

Here’s a sampling of what you can find in Gail’s Attic:

Ming Dynasty – Royal Ming Necklace & Earrings

Ming Dynasty - Royal Ming, availble in Gail's Attic

Ming Dynasty – Royal Ming – If you can’t have the whole Ming Vase, you should have at least this shard of one!

During China’s Ming Dynasty (c 1368 – 1644), its people enjoyed a luxurious lifestyle filled with great literature and art. Their deeply revered hand-painted white porcelain objects were found only in the homes of their wealthiest people.

Chinese archeologists recently unearthed a Ming Vase factory and salvaged as much of the precious (even when broken!) porcelain they could. I was able to obtain a small quantity, just so that you can wear a piece of the world’s wealthiest history around your neck!

The porcelain shard is wrapped in Sterling Silver.

Authentic Ming Dynasty Porcelain Shard is from my Ming Dynasty Collection.

Notice the large statement bead just above the porcelain shard – it’s a handmade Chinese porcelain bead in the “Ginger Jar Cloisonne” pattern, a popular classic Chinese motif. (It is not actual cloisonne.)

Princess Leia Necklace & Earrings

Princess Leia, available in Gail's Attic

Princess Leia – I hope you can see in the photos the delicate little pink roses lamp-worked onto each of these clear beads. Plus, because the glass of the lamp-worked beads is clear, you can see the gold dust in these photos! The transparent Indian Glass beads are swirled with 22 carat gold dust. You’ll easily see the gold dust when you open the box containing this delightful necklace.

Lamp-work beads are handmade and are formed by heating glass with a blowtorch and then working it into the artist’s desired bead shapes. Pink and white roses are added to these beads by touching the base bead with pink and white melted glass and twisting it slightly to form a rose.

The colors and styles of lamp-work beads can vary widely, according to the artist making them, but the signature look of a lamp-work bead is usually glossy and ornate.

Artisans create the transparent authentic Bohemian handmade glass beads by taking heated glass and pressing it into a mold.

Cats-eye was a very popular stone for engagement rings in Victorian times, when it was known as Chrysolite. In Metaphysics, this stone is reputed to bring wealth and prosperity and to help regain lost wealth. These Cats-eye chips are not natural, but are manufactured by fusing quartz fibers together in order to create the chatoyancy effect of a band of light through it. They are also called fiber-optic beads.

Faith, Hope & Love 3 – Dalmatian Necklace & Earrings

Faith, Hope & Love - Dalmatian, available in Gail's Attic

Faith, Hope & Love 3 – Dalmatian – This necklace set is part of my Faith, Hope & Love Collection, where the centerpiece of each necklace is a beautiful semi-precious stone cross. I called this one “Dalmatian” because the cross is crafted from Dalmatian Jasper, also known as Dalmatian Stone. The look of “Dalmatian” is so fun and playful, with the spotted dog coloration of the cross and round beads. Each necklace in my Faith, Hope & Love Collection fastens with a sterling silver fish clasp.

In metaphysics, Dalmatian Jasper is often referred to as the stone of joy, and is said to have a playful, childlike vibration that can help you release anger or feelings of hurt. It also allows us to connect with our own inner child and let go of resentment, bitterness, or feelings of restriction to immerse ourselves fully in the positive aspects of life.
